As discussed here....

... the new Autosave function is nice, but I think that a manual way to save what one has written when leaving a page is needed in many forums, where longer posts than 'very short' regularly are written.
In the current version on vb.com there's a dialog asking me if I want to stay on the page or leave the page and have my writings lost. But there are lots of cases where people don't want either of these options: They want to leave the thread to collect some infio, check an earlier page in the thread (eg. to check a quote in it's context) or similar, and then come back and continue typing.
There could always be a "Save Draft" button, but it's safer to get a warning (in cases where one has forgotten to save). Any message that would tell us that what we have written may or may not be lost causes confusion.
SUGGESTION: A very simple workflow could be that when leaving a thread where text exists in the reply box in, that text is always saved for eg. 24 hours (only). If one wants to make sure that the text isn''t stored, all that's needed is to just delete it before leaving the page.
